Jungle | Lush

If the title confused you, don't worry I'm here to explain! I'm talking about the Lush Cosmetics Jungle Conditioner Bar aka the conditioning bar of pure hair heaven and ITS ONLY £3.35!!!!

I first sure this conditioner in one of *Arden Roses "Lush Haul" on youtube! I'm never the person to rush out and buy something on recommendation, if I'm out and about and I see something I've heard good reviews on I'll buy it. But with this conditioner I happened to be out shopping the weekend after I watched the video so I picked it up and I'M SO THANKFUL!

I never rave about hair products because I don't really do much with my hair, I have routine and I stick to it but I'm so glad I added this to my hair routine!
At first sight this conditioner bar is quite scary unlike your usual conditioner in a bottle it looks like a bar of soap, a round bar of soap.

Its solid conditioner packed with tropical fruits, oils and cocoa butter to calm your mane. Its made from a cocoa butter base which soothes and softens, fresh figs which conditions and nourishes, fresh avocado which hydrates your hair and passion fruits to add shine!

It does it exactly what it says on the packet! (Well its from Lush so it didn't come in a packet but still!!) I've been using it for about 3 to 4 months now and I've definitely noticed a huge difference in the feel and appearance of my hair! All you have to do is gently stroke the bar down your hair a few times, its helps if you put it under the tap for around about 5 seconds to soften it slightly!

The bar itself has a very hard smell to describe, it smells almost "earthy" or "foresty"! But it doesn't smell like that once you've washed your hair its slightly more muted, I was initially worried how the smell would pay off but its really not bad!

This is the last thing I do before I dry my hair. I wash my hair with an Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner, I don't have a specific one to recommend because I own so many different ones but I never change the brand. Once I've shampooed and conditioned I use my Jungle bar. (You may think its strange to use two lots of conditioner but I have a thing about completing the set if I have the shampoo I must use the matching conditioner otherwise my hair routine doesn't feel complete)
I absolutely love love love love love love love love love love love love love love the Jungle Bar and I recommend it to everyone with any hair type, I have naturally curly hair and I regularly straighten my hair and my hair feels and looks much healthier in both styles.

I could rave and rave and rave and rave and rave and rave about this conditioner for days and days so if you aren't convinced by now, go and give it a try its only £3.35! So it wont break the bank even if you don't like but I know you will so don't worry!!!

ENJOY THE CONDITIONER!!

Makeup May Favourites!

Hello again,

It seems like May has come and gone by faster then urm...*inserts really good comparison about time flying by*.

But seriously, it really has flown by we're already in June, so now is the perfect time to tell you my makeup favourites from the month of May. I was going to write this at the end of May but with exams and everything I haaaaaaaad to revise. This May I've had a few new favourites as I've discovered many new brands... well they aren't new I'm just pretty late on the band wagon!

To start off with I went to Kiko. I've seen Kiko used a lot on Youtube by many of my favourite American and European makeup artists and I didn't realise you could by it in the UK! BUT YOU CAN and have been able to for about 3 years in my local shopping centre! (Shows how much attention I pay to life really!) Anyway I went a bit Kiko crazy because well I was super excited!

  • First thing I bought was an infinity eyeshadow in 213 Mat Cocoa which I've been using as a colour to define my eyes. The shade is slightly pinkish which I wasn't intentionally looking for but I ended up loving it plus the colour payoff is amazing and they blend well for only £5.90
  • Next, I bought two precision lip liners in 303 Indian Red and 302 Natural Pink. I was looking for a not so nude nude, something slightly warmer then nude but still subtle. They are super easy to apply with a matte finish. The website says there waterproof which I'd have to agree with they do wear slightly but they don't budge for an affordable £4.20
  • Lastly I got two Pencil Lip Glosses in 10 Dark Rose and 11 Mauve Beige unlike normal lip glosses they're aren't sticky which I LOVE because I hate the feeling of lip gloss. They have a more satin lipstick finish then lip gloss and they contain vitamin E which is anti ageing, bonus! The only problem is I haven't found a sharper big enough to sharpen them with yet but for £3.90 I don't really mind.

My next favourite is an eyeshadow palette from BeautyUK called No. 4 - Earth Child. I hadn't heard of BeautyUK before and I accidentally came across the brand in Superdrug, the stand was tucked right at the back and I have NO IDEA why because I love it and its sooooooo cheap, the most expensive item is £5.99, I mean you cant go wrong.

  • I absolutely love this palette especially for £3.99, my favourite colours are the 4 golden toned colours which I use on an everyday basis. I use the bronze, copper, gold colour (great use of adjectives Kayla) to contour my eyes, I then put the gold in middle and outer third of my eye, I apply the cream colour on the inner third of my eye to open them up. If I'm looking for more depth I add the purple gold on the outer third of my eye aswell. That may seem quite confusing but if you close your eyes and place three fingers on your eyelid you'll understand what I mean when I split my eyelids into thirds.

My last makeup favourite are two eyeshadows from Mac in the shades Honesty and Cork. These are probably my priciest favourite coming in at £12.50 each.

  • Honesty is a light pinkish bronze colour with bronze gold glitter and chunky silver glitter. It has a lovely colour pay off and despite the chunky glitter it is very subtle and suitable for everyday wear. Cork on the other had is a warm toned soft matte brown perfect for contouring both the eyes and cheekbones. Both shades are buildable and extremely easy to blend and despite the heavy price they are worth the money.

You could say I've tried quite a few makeup products this month. Lips, eyes and bronze seem to be the theme for this month. I couldn't be happier with the things I've bought and they'll probably still be my favourites in June. I hope you enjoyed reading about my makeup favourites as much as I've enjoyed using them and maybe inspired you to try out some new products.

See ya in my next post! Byeeeeeeeee xo

*Disclaimer: In no way am I trying to show off with any of the products I talk about. Some people collect stamps, well I buy makeup and as I want to have a career in the fashion and beauty industry I like to try different products and expand my own personal knowledge. love you xo*

Celebrity Style Inspiration and a New Coat Right?

"New Year, New Me"

NO! NO! NO! Okay no! But the New Year means new clothes right? Right!!

So I've decided I'd like to update my wardrobe for the New Year, I want to look young but classy and chic since I'm turning SIXTEEN this year! Kylie Jenner is my celebrity style inspiration.

I absolutely love Kylie Jenner's dress sense. Its edgy and rock 'n' roll but casual and simplistic, I also love how she doesn't try to dress like anybody else, she keeps it completely original. Kylie is also my favourite in the Kardashian/Jenner family alongside Khloe.

Picking my favourite outfit by Kylie was ridiculously difficult so I picked some recent ones! Also what I love about these is there so basic yet so classy!

The outfit on the left is the Pale Check V Neck Coat £45 (its currently on sale woo) and Moto Vintage Boyfriend Jeans also £45 both from Topshop and a plain grey t-shirt which you can get anywhere so anyone can wear this outfit at a price that wont break the bank! The outfit on the top right is a Brandy Melville skirt £19.50 and Yeezus merch from Pacsun ranging from £25-£30! (Side note for anyone in the UK there is now a Brandy Melville in Carnaby Street in Central London) Lastly the bottom outfit I'm not sure where exactly her outfit is from but a simple red plaid shirt, white tee and black skater skirt is not hard to find at your local shopping centre!

Whilst I was looking through pictures of Kylie for inspiration I noticed she nearly always wears either an oversized or fitted jacket so I thought this is wear I shall start...a coat!

The coat above is the Collarless Check Wool Jacket £85.00 from Topshop so if you wanted Kylie's exact jacket you can actually run and get it.  The coats below are similar to this one if you don't want one as bold I found theses which I thought fit into this edgy but classy look.

Both From Topshop

(Left) Dogtooth Printed Throw On Coat £75    (Right) Textured Swing Coat £89.00

I myself am not sure which coat I'm going to purchase to start my new wardrobe but I'll definitely going to treat myself to one! I really hope this helped you with some ideas on new buys for your 2014 wardrobe. Let me know which celebrity is your style inspiration for the new year xo

Drugstore Brows

2013 has been the year of the eyebrow. Everyone loves eyebrows and takes care of their brows a lot more now we have been introduced to so many aka CARA DELEVINGNE'S bushy beauties!!

for those who live under a rock and have never seen Cara's brows

Anyway, I as a fan of eyebrow care have tried and tested my fair share of drugstore eyebrow products and thought it was only right to share my opinions on a few I've tried this month.

1. First on my list is the 'MUA Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit' £3.50 from Superdrug.

I think its worth its money. It comes with angled brush and tweezers. I love the pigment of the brow shades and they last all day which is perfect! My hair is a variety of brown shades so I like to match my brows close to roots and by having both a dark and light brown in the kit, I can make the perfect shade to suit me. I also love that the colour last all day without having to use the setting wax as I personally dislike waxy products for my eyebrows. The peachy shade is to be used as a highlight under your brows but I feel a creamer shade would have been better.
My only complaint about this eyebrow kit is my light brown shade actually broke out of the casing. (NIGHTMARE!)

2. Next is an eyebrow pencil, the 'Eylure Shape and Shade Brow Pencil and Tamer' in the shade 'Medium Brunette to Dark Blonde' £5.35 from Boots

I loovvee this pencil, its super soft on your brows and I was quite sceptical on the colour this pencil was going to turn out as there are only three shades on ofter and I find it quite hard to find a decent colour for my brows. I went for this pencil as it was by Eylure and they commonly known for eyelashes and as they are a brand focused on eyes, I thought they'd know something about brows. I love that the brush is directly on the end of the pencil so there is no hassle when you come to brushing your eyebrows through. Finally the colour lasts all day, I have no complaints about this so far! Woo! I think I'm in love guys...

And finally 'Sleek Make Up Brow Kit Light' £8.49 from Superdrug

3. This is the most expensive of the three and I honestly don't like this kit very much. It comes with tweezers and two brushes, one angled and one for blending. I felt that the wax (the darker shade) was OK, it wasn't to heavy and it had a nice colour to it but the setting powder (lighter brown) was far too light for the wax. It made my eyebrows look ashy. There are only two kits on offer from Sleek one dark and one light. This I felt was annoying as the dark kit looked too dark for me and to my discovery the light kit was a little to light for me. Also it doesn't last all day, I had to re-touch my brows a few times during the day wearing this which doesn't bother me but it's not ideal also my friends noticed my eyebrows looked lighter.

Overall it's not always about cost with drugstore eyebrow products sometimes its about trial and error! But I'm sure there will be many eyebrow products for me to try in 2014!
